II. General use of our web portals and general principles

When you visit our web pages, we collect and process the information with which you provide us (voluntarily) on our website, or which you transfer to us in any other way (particularly automatically). This enables us to optimize our services, content and advertising to meet your needs and also to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

1.  Data automatically transferred by you, usage data, tracking

For statistical purposes and to optimize the services we provide, when you use our homepage, we automatically collect information transferred to us by your browser, including but not limited to the following information:

  • the browser type and version that you are using
  • the operating system that you are using
  • the referrer URL (the page that you had just previously visited)
  • the host name of the accessing computer (your IP address)
  • the date and time of the server request

In our system, we use HTTP cookies [see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie] and flash cookies [see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Shared_Object]. These cookies enable us to identify you and to ensure that you can use our services easily and without any problems. You can prevent or restrict the storage of cookies in your browser, but please note that it may not be possible to use our services if the storage of cookies is not permitted. Moreover, other technical means may be used (e.g., JavaScript – see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JavaScript) to collect and analyze information about user behavior (e.g., duration of your visit to our pages, click paths, mouseover information, scrolling, etc.). Information collected in this way helps us to optimize our services and web page structure, and to display the content that is most likely to meet your needs.

To this end, this website uses technology from Live Person, Inc., USA, and from Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses text files called “cookies”, which are stored on your computer and make it possible to analyze your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie concerning your use of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it is stored. Google will use this information to analyze your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for the website operators, and to provide other services regarding website and internet use. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law, or if the third parties in question have been employed by Google to process the data. Under no circumstances will Google connect your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting in your browser software; but we would advise you that this may mean that you cannot enjoy the full benefits of all the functions of this website. By using this website, you thereby give your consent for Google to process data gathered from you in the way described above and for the purposes described above.

If you do not use your username and password to log in to our website, the abovementioned information is stored and analyzed entirely anonymously; in this event, we have no way of knowing your identity. For information concerning use of the web pages by a registered (and logged-in) user, see III below.

2. Ordering the newsletter; marketing and advertising

You have the option of ordering an e-mail newsletter by filling in an online form on our website. If you order this newsletter, we will regularly provide you with interesting news about our company and our products. Once you have entered your first name and surname and your e-mail address in our online form, you will receive an automated message with a confirmation link. The e-mail address that you have entered will not be recorded by our newsletter distributor until you have clicked on this confirmation link.
